How HouseKeys works

Build a piano-house chord loop, hear its rhythm, then make it your own in your music software.

1. Shape your progression

Open the generator and choose a key and major or minor scale. Select 4 or 8 bars, set the tempo, and adjust the mood, rhythm and voicing controls. Press Generate for a new variation.

2. Choose the lowest root

The Lowest root control sets the lower boundary for chord roots. Choose C0, C1 or C2 to explore different registers. C0 and C1 allow notes below C2; there is no fixed C2 minimum. Octave names can differ between music applications, so compare the actual MIDI pitches when moving a file between them.

3. Listen before downloading

Press Play to preview the notes with a sine pluck. Generation and audio preview are free. Your browser may require a click before it can play audio. The preview demonstrates the timing and harmony; your own piano instrument supplies the finished sound.

4. Export and finish in your DAW

Try three free MIDI exports before signing up, with no card required. Download the .mid file and drag it onto an instrument track in Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio or another MIDI-compatible DAW. Load a piano instrument and add your own drums, bass and arrangement.

The file contains one piano chord track, note timing, tempo and chord markers in 4/4. It does not contain recorded audio, drums, bass or a melody.

Read common questions or contact support if a file will not play.
